Training in Animal Care - PetCloud Academy

Under Australian Consumer Law all Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers must guarantee to use an acceptable level of skill or technical knowledge when providing services, and take all necessary care to avoid loss or damage.  This means:

  1. Research a pet's breed prior to the Meet & Greet
  2. Complete the RSPCA Qld Accredited Animal Care course
  3. Make sure your property is escape-proof and hazard-free.

There are potentially personal consequences if you choose to not take any training. You could face:

  1. $1,500 payable in insurance excess fees in the event of a Pet Owner needing to make an insurance claim for a Pet Accident
  2. Escape or Harm to a Pet
  3. Up to $25,000 payable in associated losses ordered by a court leaving you in debt.
  4. Accusations of Negligence or Cruelty
Once you have completed the Animal Care Course, take a screenshot of your completion page saying 100% and upload that - we will receive it in our queue and will allocate a digital badge to your listing.  We don't offer a downloadable certificate as the training is exclusive to the PetCloud platform only.

If you have paid for the course, the ATO's website has information on how to claim a tax deduction.
