No. You are onboarded remotely, and we do not meet you in person, so the type of check we arrange is a Live biometric identity 'selfie' check by an ACIC accredited party that is cross-checked with the Australian Government's DVS register and linked to a Nationally Coordinated Police check. This check tells us that you are who you say you are, not just that a piece of paper exists. You may not even have to pay for it - Your Employment Service Provider (such as WorkSkil Australia) may pay for a new Police + Live Biometrcheck for you or, it may be tax deductible. Many Sitters make the cost back very quickly within their first booking!
We do not provide child-related services, so no pet care platform can access the system to verify a Blue Card or WWC Check (working with children check). A Working With Children check only screens for offences specifically related to children. WWCC covers:
- Child sexual offences
- Child abuse and neglect
- Child exploitation
Platforms accepting WWCC have no access to the WWCC database cannot confirm whether the check is current, valid, or genuine. And even a legitimate WWCC tells you nothing about:
- Theft and fraud
- Violence and assault
- Animal cruelty and abuse
- Supply or possession of drugs
- Weapons offences
