I hold a Blue Card / WWC Check - will that suffice as a National Police Check?
No. These cover different things, and we can't verify either one for pet care.
Why a WWCC doesn't work here
We don't provide child-related services, so pet care platforms can't access the WWCC system to verify a card is current or genuine. Even a valid WWCC only screens for offences against children (sexual offences, abuse/neglect, exploitation) - it tells us nothing about theft, violence, animal cruelty, drug offences, or weapons offences.
What we require instead
Since onboarding happens remotely without meeting you in person, we require a live biometric "selfie" identity check (via an ACIC-accredited provider, cross-checked against the Australian Government's DVS register) linked to a Nationally Coordinated Police Check. This confirms you're really you, not just that a document exists - and it checks for animal cruelty convictions and other relevant offences that a WWCC doesn't cover.
