What is Puppy Socialisation?
Puppies in their critical socialization period (between 3 and 14 weeks of age) are socialised with other puppies and methodically exposed and desensitised using positive reinforcement to a list of different types of people, places, sounds, or objects for a 12 week period.
What is the duration?
Each session is 8hrs so that you can focus on work and don't have to rush home to pick up your pup when you are in the middle of work.
What is the minimum term?
The minimum term is 12 weeks, with a minimum of 1 session per week. Its up to you if you want more sessions.
Where does it take place?
Sitters private homes, or low volume public locations, with your permission.
Is it the same as doggy day care?
No. Its different in that there is a methodical list of sights sounds and potential triggers puppies are exposed to with positive interactions and reinforcement so that they grow into a well adjusted adult dog.
Why is this period important?
Puppies that experience a variety of positive situations during this period are better able to adapt to new situations later in life.
Puppies that aren't socialized during this period may be fearful and reactive of new people, animals, places, sounds, or objects.
