Stipulations for Pet Accident Cover
In order for insurance for a Pet Accident to be paid out:
- The Pet must be examined by a Registered Vet & Clinic and a Report provided.
- The amount must be over $5000
- The accident must be caused by negligence of the Sitter
- The RSPCA Qld Accredited Animal Care course has been completed by the Sitter and the Pet Owner must have selected a Sitter who has completed RSPCA Accredited Animal Care Training.
- The Sitter has passed a Police check with no criminal convictions in the last 5 years
- Both parties have done an in-person property safety check and a pet compatibility check prior to care taking place.
- No off leash dog parks are to be visited.
- No dog beaches are to be visited.
- Any dogs are to be separated during meal times from other pets to prevent being triggered
- All cats must be securely kept indoors at all times in well ventilated rooms with any cat flaps/dog flaps sealed up to prevent escape.
- Correct front-clipping body harnesses must be provided for all large dogs
- Prompt basic first aid must be applied to all minor medical conditions during the stay with expenses paid for by the Owner.
- No pre-existing medical conditions will be paid for.
- All pets must be handed over in a secure travel carrier or secure collar and leash
- All vaccinations and parasite control are to be up to date
- All pets are to be desexed if owned by a licensed breeder, and must not be on heat if deemed too young (under 1 year) to desex.
- All dogs and cats must be Council registered
- All food is to be supplied by the Pet Owner to prevent a change in diet and upset stomachs.
