What Dog Walker or Pet Sitter Supplies should I have?
Make sure you have the following items on you, or in your car:
- Your Smartphone. It will enable you to access the PetCloud App and communicate with Clients when you're out and about.
- A Car Charger cable for your phone
- Client keys - never leave those in the car. It’s too much of a liability should your car get broken into.
- A physical Annual Diary and a pen
- Extra poop bags. Most clients provide their own bags, but some forget and you should be prepared and have extra ones.
- Additional leashes and collars. Always carry an extra large, durable chrome slip collar in my cross body purse in case a regular flat collar breaks. Extra large slip collars can be used on any size dog, from toy breed to extra large pup.
- Hand Sanitiser.
- Towels for rainy & muddy days.
- Water to stay hydrated, coffee to stay alert, and snacks like raw almonds or bananas to keep you energised.
- A loud whistle & a tick remover on a lanyard that you wear around your neck. The sound of the whistle distracts loose dogs and the tick remover comes in handy all year long.
- Install an App called DriversNote automatically tracks mileage logs for you daily. They’re tax deductible and definitely your biggest business expense.
- A Pet First aid kit. It should hold Savlon which is an antibacterial ointment, gauze, sterile pads, muzzles (you can also use gauze to make a makeshift muzzle), Benadryl and scissors.
- Bug spray & sun protection.
- Custom PetCloud Business cards.
- Self-defense alarm.
In addition to the list above, its good for Pet Sitters to have x4 washable puppy mats for guest dogs to toilet on (in case they don't bring any). Cat Owners should supply kitty litter and a tray.
