Escrow generally refers to money held by a third-party account on behalf of transacting parties until certain conditions are met.  If as a Pet Owner you post a job and a Pet Sitter makes an offer, when you accept that offer and propose a Meet & Greet, the funds for the job are securely held until you are satisfied that the job is complete to the quality standard agreed.
