If your pet gets lost and is taken to a vet clinic or animal shelter, your pet will be scanned for a microchip to reveal their unique ID number. That number will be called into the pet recovery service, and you will be contacted using the contact information on file with your pet's microchip.
If a pet is transferred to a new owner, the new owner must ensure their contact details are recorded on the database. Microchipping for cats and dogs is mandatory in ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC and WA. Microchipping for dogs only is compulsory in TAS. PetCloud is a licensed microchip register. You are able to store your pet's microchip conveniently in your Pet's Profile.
