Why should Pet Sitters get a Police check?
Because you're onboarded remotely, and not in person, a self uploaded police check doesn't verify who is uploading the police check.
The biometric liveness step proves *you* are the person in the documents — not just that the documents exist.
So Sitters have a Live Biometric Check to verify your live face, against Government issued photo ID which is verified through the Document Verification Service (DVS) — an Australian Government system that validates your passport, driver's licence, or Medicare card against official records in real time.

The trust that pet owners place in pet sitters — welcoming them into their homes and leaving their pets in their care — is something we take seriously, and this verification process is a key part of upholding that trust.
